9 WEEKS FOR 9 ELMS
last term The Living Room ran 9 Weeks for 9 Elms, an early morning gathering online to pray for the world and our neighbours here in Nine Elms. With information and news shared about the area we prayed in breakout rooms on a different theme each week, from Harvest to Advent.
A new series of 9W4NE will begin soon. Why not give 30 minutes a week for 9 weeks to pray about your neighbourhoods in Nine Elms?
STIR FRY THEOLOGY
Ever feel you’d like to understand theology without reading dozens of complicated books? Here’s an answer. Like the culinary dish, Stir Fry Theology is fast, fresh and appetizing. Over 4 weeks, engage in a small group on a theological topic. Bite into the themes of a Bible passage and get a taste of the vital stuff of Christian faith.
The current Stir Fry event is full. A new Stir Fry event will start in February. Interested? Why not drop us a line through the sign up form at Sticking Together or through The Living Room
During Advent the NIne Elms Arts Ministry team in Nine Elms, led by Revd Betsy Blatchley, Pioneer Minister in the Arts, created the Nine Elms Advent Calendar project. By working with artists and building owners, 25 windows were created that captured the theme of Light in the Darkness. Lockdown restrictions meant that launch events each evening weren’t possible, but a map of the trail was available online and various hosts offered hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies to keep the trail blazers going! This video gives a snapshot of all 25 windows.
THY KINGDOM COME - 10 DAYS OF PRAYING FOR OUR FRIENDS
For the 10 days before Pentecost last year we joined a global movement of prayer called They Kingdom Come. It was an opportunity to think of 5 friends we could pray for every day for 10 days. To help do this we created a simple daily guide.
Those 10 days are over, but praying for our friends isn’t! We’ve left this prayer guide online in case you want to use it to carry on praying for your friends - you can start anytime, and do it more than once.
