God loves each one of us as much as if we were his own child, and that means he sees us all as one family. We are all brothers and sisters in his eyes. Just like in our earthly families, that means that whilst we might not always agree with each other, we should try to love each other as we all have a special bond.
In various places in the bible Jesus asks us to love one another, to love others as God loves us, to love our neighbours, and even to love our enemies. The fact that God loves us so much can give us the confidence to love those around us, even when we fear we might get let down or hurt by them.
This is part of how we grow our faith – trusting in God’s love & sharing it with others – being God’s ‘heart’ in the world.
