Kids Stuff - Sunday 12th July 2020

The Holy Spirit helped the disciples to do many miracles, like healing sick people. Some people thought this was like magic and wanted to be able to do these ‘tricks’ themselves – for selfish reasons like showing off or making money.

But there are big differences between magic tricks & what the Holy Spirit does. The Holy Spirit helps us to do what God wants, not what we want. That might sometimes be a miracle, but mostly He shows us the right way to live for God each day & helps us to tell others about Jesus.

These things are far more important than fancy tricks!

Prayer

Lord God, we thank you that you sent the Holy Spirit to help us follow Jesus the right way. Thank you that the Holy Spirit can do miracles.

But thank you also for the little things that the Holy Spirit helps us with each day, like being kind to others and praying.

Help us not to get greedy and want the Holy Spirit to help us show off, or give us more than we need. Instead, help us to ask the Holy Spirit to show us what God wants us to do each day. Amen
