A story for our time.

Today we remember the death of Jesus. The powerful forces of institutional life conspired to put one man to death for holding out the offer of a non-compliant, non-institutional, God energised life. As the story of that day unfolds we see the combined energy and power of a dominant political legislature, institutional religion, the army and public opinion all moving relentlessly to the single point where one man had to die.

The tableau of readings, prayers, music and reflection offered below is designed to slow down our own reflections on the day. It’s offered both as a sequential ‘service’ as if in church, but also as a room in which we can choose to move freely within the story. There is also a simple gallery. Readings with text and without text are offered. We recommend beginning and ending your time of reflection with the opening and closing prayers.
