We are trying something that has never been done - to create A Family of Neighbourhood Churches across Europe’s largest redevelopment project - Nine Elms on the South Bank. In the parish we have three churches and work closely with a fourth church in a neighbouring parish. We also work with the churches and projects of the Battersea Deanery. We are planting new churches, creating new projects, working in education, connecting with developers and new residents at Battersea Power Station, the US Embassy, new Covent Garden Market and so much more.
To achieve success in all this we need to develop new ways of communicating and coordinating our marketing information, and new ways of connecting with people, some we know and some we don’t.
We are looking for someone who can work with us in a part time role, ideally on a volunteer basis (see our salary scales here)
If you are the right person you will be someone who
is experienced in developing communications strategies
has a good level of expertise in managing design processes
is highly skilled at personal and corporate communication
is confident to use or learn software packages
is a confident and supportive team member
We want to reach crazy numbers of people in Nine Elms with advice, information, updates on our church activities, and generally be at the heart of our new riverside communities. We want to create two new websites to reach our neighbours, each with a different purpose and both to be engaging and purposeful. And we haven’t seen what we’re planning done before in the church world - we’re breaking new ground. These projects are at the pre-planning stage so this is an opportunity for creative communicators to shape something new. This is a part time role to join the web team for a few hours a month ideally as a volunteer, though some remuneration might be available for the right person.
As we try to extend our connection with our neighbours in Nine Elms we see how important our web presence has become. But our church website won’t update itself! There is an opportunity to join the team for a few hours a week to update the everyday news and programmes on the parish website
